ASCII filter options

Issues with installing under all versions of MS Windows

ASCII filter options

Postby Nekozawa » Thu Feb 24, 2011 1:44 am

I searched the board for this similar issue but no one really has a straight solution on how to recover the document. The problem I'm struggling with is after a week of writing my lecture notes onto OO and saving constantly, I was unable to access it the following day. ASCII filter options popped up and ask to convert which I've tried all the options but was unable to recover it in a non-gibberish state. SO I ask here, Please someone help me recover this document. I attached my doc hoping someone could recover my notes.

Sorry, there's no data there to recover--the file is nothing but zeros.

You'll have to go to your last good backup copy.

Hashes? Then the file is lost: see that thread: 22 pages term paper replaced with pound signs.

and saving constantly,

Just some suggestions:
Use numbered backup methode manually (MyFile001, Myfile 002...) and save often the stages with increased number in filename for more security.
Never open/edit/save a file from a pendrive directly. Copy it to Hard drive before you open it.
